Great news is always worth sharing. And that's why we would like to share a few of our notable developments over the past few months. Our Exception news, August 2022 is packed with new awards, memberships, accreditations and events.
Not only were we awarded the title of a Top 50 Service firm, globally, by the Consulting Report in July. This month we were recognised as a Top 40 Most Innovative Cloud Computing Company, (Scotland), yet we remain an extensive UK-wide business.
We're pleased to become a member of TechUK, one of the largest tech events and networking organisations in the UK. Exception joining TechUK is a brilliant opportunity to work even closer with digital and tech professionals across UK government.
With around 400 events, which includes groups, webinars and round tables, the membership means we can greater connect with digital professionals in UK government departments and the public sector as a whole.
We're confident the membership will become an integral part of our business moving forwards and look forward to engaging with new customers at these various events during the yearly calendar.
As an “Innovative Cloud Computing Company”, we are increasing our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Accreditation; the most recent of which is AWS Lambda.
This is a serverless, event-driven compute service that runs code for most applications or backend service without provisioning or managing servers. Lambda can be triggered from over 200 AWS services and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications.
We have been a partner in Amazon Web Services (AWS) since 2019 and now hold the following AWS accreditations:
We were delighted to see so many colleagues finally in person at the Annual Staff Conference in May, after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. Around 50 colleagues attended a fun-filled two-day event at the Novotel, Edinburgh Park. The theme for each day respectively was “Me and My Team” and “The Customer”.
Following a “Road Ahead” speech from CEO Scott, there was an Introduction to Service Management from Brian Douglas and a remote presentation from Dean Branton, CIO from Magnox. For some fun, there was a quiz, artistic entertainment, a magician, a band and an after-dinner speech from our own Phil Strange.
A great time was had by all!
Exception champions freedom of opportunity for women in tech and digital. In June, Ruth Sadler, Senior Project Manager, represented Exception at the "Empowering Women to Lead Digital Transformation 2022 Graduates," event at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh. As an event sponsor we loved hearing from all the graduates about their projects.
We were delighted to exhibit at the Civil Service Live event at the ExCel in London on 5th and 6th July. In addition to our event stand, we were pleased to partner with Magnox, which presented on their Digital Transformation Journey.
Exception continues to help support Magnox in delivering its digital ambitions. The event was very well-attended with civil service departments and government bodies from across the UK. Team Exception was there in force with Gail Duncan, Alasdair Hendry, Alison Marwick and Stephanie Ferguson representing our company.
We look forward to returning to London to attend Government Transformation Live on 22nd September. It will bring together Civil Service Digital, Data and Technology leaders with their US, Canadian, Australian and European counterparts. The event is described as having an “unusual discussion-driven conference format.” Attendees will be Alison Marwick, Alasdair Hendry and Stephanie Ferguson.
Exception looks forward to the rest of this year with continued success and achievement, and would like to say thank you to our colleagues, customers and partners across the UK.
